Frequently Asked Questions

01    CBD Related Questions
  • What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are a group of substances found in the cannabis plant. There are over a hundred identified cannabinoids, but the most commonly used and talked about are THC, CBD, CBG and CBN.

  • What is the endocannabinoid system?

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a vital system in our bodies that helps regulate important functions like mood, appetite, pain, sleep, and immunity. It consists of cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids produced by our bodies, and enzymes.

By interacting with cannabinoid receptors, the ECS helps maintain balance and harmony within our body, promoting overall well-being. Cannabinoids like CBD can support the ECS and enhance its function, potentially offering therapeutic benefits.

  • Is hemp legal?

Since 2018, hemp-derived CBD and other cannabinoids (such as CBG and CBN) are legal under federal law throughout the US. However, each state may regulate CBD and other cannabinoids separately from the federal government.

  • What does full spectrum mean?

There are hundreds of different compounds in the hemp plant. Other than all the cannabinoids (CBD, CBG, CBN, THC), it is primarily terpenes that remain intact in a full spectrum product. Terpenes are what give hemp flowers their flavor and smell. The cannabinoids and terpenes together are called full spectrum. And by using a full spectrum product, your endocannabinoid system can experience the entourage effect—meaning you are benefitting from the whole plant to the fullest extent.

  • Why does CBD seem to work for some people and not others?

Pharmaceutical drugs and nutritional supplements do not elicit the same response in every person. Hemp is no different. People respond differently to different physical routines, food and other substances they consume. We are each unique. Statistically about 80% of people experience great benefits from taking CBD and other cannabinoids.

02    PRODUCT & BRAND RELATED QUESTIONS
  • How is your hemp processed?

The seeds are sown by hand in our greenhouse, then transplanted by hand to the field when they are old enough to stand on their own. Carefully nurtured outdoors through the summer until they are mature, the plants are harvested by hand, dried in our custom drier and then stored under controlled conditions. The harvested plants, called biomass, are processed by removing the essential oils (CBD, CBG and terpenes) by ethanol extraction. The ethanol is removed and the resulting resin dissolved in MCT oil to produce a full spectrum tincture. The tincture is bottled as is or further modified with functional adaptogens and herbs to produce enhanced products such as Rest and Reboot. Product is stored and shipped by our fulfillment center— run by a family friend of many decades.

  • Where is your hemp grown?

On our family farm in Oregon, in the lush Willamette Valley, on land previously occupied by the Kalapuya tribe. Our clean, fresh water flows down from the Cascade Mountains. The surrounding area comprises other small farms and forestland, trees and wilderness for as far as the eye can see.
